About Taghazout: Overview & What to Expect
Taghazout is a small coastal village north of Agadir that has become one of Morocco's best-known surf destinations. Travelers come for its surf breaks, beaches, cafés, seafood and relaxed seaside atmosphere.
What was once a modest fishing settlement has grown into a hub for surfers of all levels, with the village itself now built largely around that identity surf camps, board rental shops and rooftop cafés line the main street down to the water. The coastline here is dotted with distinct breaks, from the beginner-friendly waves near the village center to faster, more powerful points along the rocky stretches nearby, drawing a mix of first-timers and experienced surfers depending on the spot. Beyond the waves, the area has become a base for a wider wellness and digital-nomad crowd, with yoga retreats and longer-term stays now common. Its position just north of Agadir also puts several other well-known surf towns within easy reach for day trips.
