City Ramparts
Free AccessTaroudant's historic ramparts are one of the city's defining landmarks, forming a long defensive enclosure around much of the old medina. Built primarily from traditional earthen materials, the walls are known for their warm ochre color, monumental gates, towers, and well-preserved appearance. Walking alongside the ramparts gives visitors a strong sense of Taroudant's historic character and provides easy access to several of the city's traditional neighborhoods and entrances. There is no standard admission fee to view the exterior walls or walk through the surrounding public areas, although organized tours and calèche rides can provide a more detailed way to experience them.
