Saïdia is a Mediterranean resort town in northeastern Morocco known for its long sandy beach and clear waters. The destination becomes especially lively during the summer, with visitors coming for the beach, seafood and resort atmosphere.
Located on Morocco's Mediterranean coast near the Algerian border, Saïdia is known for its long, wide sandy beach, often cited as one of the longest and best-maintained in the country, backed by a modern marina development built in recent decades to boost tourism in the region. Unlike the older, more historic coastal cities elsewhere in Morocco, Saïdia has a distinctly newer, resort-style feel, with planned developments, hotels and a marina lined with cafés and shops. The Moulouya River, which flows into the Mediterranean nearby, forms a wetland estuary that's an important stopover for migratory birds, offering a quieter, nature-focused contrast to the beachfront. Its far northeastern position makes it less visited by international travelers than Morocco's Atlantic resorts, drawing a largely domestic and cross-border Algerian crowd instead.
