If you are traveling to Fes or smaller towns like Chefchaouen, the Uber app will typically show no available drivers, since coverage is still limited to the five cities above. inDrive is the most widely available ride-hailing application in Morocco, operating across Casablanca, Marrakech, Rabat, Tangier, Fes, and Agadir.

Unlike standard algorithmic pricing, inDrive uses a peer-to-peer bidding system. You enter your destination and suggest a fare in dirhams; nearby drivers then accept, reject, or counter-offer your proposed price.

Payment on inDrive is predominantly cash-based. You must pay your driver in cash at the end of the trip, so keeping small dirham notes on hand is essential.

In cities where standard ride-hailing services are restricted, local alternatives bridge the gap between street taxis and smartphone convenience.

Heetch and Roby operate in cities like Casablanca, Marrakech, and Rabat by connecting users directly with licensed Petit Taxi drivers rather than private vehicles.

Fares on these platforms are based on official city taxi meters plus a transparent app service booking fee, giving you digital tracking while utilizing official taxis.

Street taxis remain the fastest and most cost-effective option for short urban travel across Morocco.

Petit Taxis are small, city-specific cabs (Red in Marrakech and Casablanca, Blue in Rabat, Mustard Yellow in Fes). By law, they carry a maximum of 3 passengers and operate strictly within city limits.

Grand Taxis are larger sedans or minivans designed for groups of 4 to 6 passengers or for routes outside city limits, such as inter-city travel or direct airport transfers.

Ordering an app ride from major international airports like Marrakech Menara (RAK) or Casablanca Mohammed V (CMN) requires advance planning.

Due to local airport transport regulations and taxi union zones, app-based drivers (such as inDrive or Uber) are generally not permitted to pick up passengers directly at official arrival curbsides or taxi ranks.

If using an app at the airport, walk slightly past the terminal curbside to public parking or designated pickup zones to meet your driver. Alternatively, use official fixed-rate airport taxi counters located inside arrival halls.
