How Much Is a Bahia Palace Ticket in Marrakech? (2026 Prices)

A Bahia Palace ticket costs 100 MAD for foreign adults and 50 MAD for children aged 7 to 13. Moroccan citizens and residents pay a much lower rate, and you buy at the gate.
The Bahia Palace is the one big Marrakech palace that is still mostly intact. It was built in the second half of the 1800s for Ba Ahmed, a grand vizier, and it is a maze of courtyards, gardens and small decorated rooms. The painted cedar ceilings and the tiled floors are why people come.
The ticket price is set by the Ministry of Culture, not by the palace. Foreign adults pay 100 MAD, which has been the price since June 2024 when it rose from 70 MAD. Children aged 7 to 13 pay 50 MAD, and Moroccan citizens and residents pay far less.
Is it worth 100 MAD? For a first visit, yes, as long as you go early. The rooms are small and the courtyards get crowded once tour groups arrive from about 10:30. If you have limited time, El Badi Palace is quieter and the Saadian Tombs are a shorter stop. All three are within a 15 minute walk of each other.

What actually changes the price
Who you are
Moroccan citizens, foreign residents of Morocco, students and children all pay less than a foreign adult. Carry the right ID, because the ticket window checks it.
Where you buy
The gate is the cheapest place. Online resellers add a markup, but some include an audio guide or a guaranteed entry slot, which matters if you hate queuing.
A price rise that is easy to miss
Many older blog posts still say 70 MAD. The ministry raised prices at Marrakech monuments in June 2024, so 100 MAD is the figure to expect now.
Guided or self-guided
There is little signage inside. If you want the history, budget for an audio guide or a licensed guide on top of the ticket.
Good to know before you go
- Taxis near the palace should use the meter. If the driver refuses, agree a price before you get in.
- Check the ticket price on the board at the window before you pay, and count your change.
What to expect
You enter through a plain doorway in a quiet lane, then walk through a series of courtyards. The first big one has a central fountain and a tiled floor, and the rooms around it have painted and carved cedar ceilings.
The route is not always marked, and some rooms are closed for restoration. Expect to retrace your steps once or twice. Most people spend between an hour and an hour and a half.
The garden courtyard with orange trees is the calmest part, and the best place for photos when it is empty. After 10:30 you will be waiting for tour groups to move on from every doorway.
Before you book
Be at the door at 9:00. The first hour is the only time the main courtyard is close to empty. By mid morning, photos without people in them are close to impossible.
Bring cash. Card machines at monument gates are often down. Carry 100 MAD per adult in notes, plus small change for a tip if you hire a guide.
Do three sites in one morning. Saadian Tombs first at 9:00, El Badi second, Bahia last. Each is a separate ticket, so the full adult total is 300 MAD. No combined ticket is listed for these three.
Frequently asked questions
How much is the Bahia Palace ticket?
100 MAD for foreign adults and 50 MAD for children aged 7 to 13. Moroccan citizens and residents pay a reduced rate, and international students pay about 30 MAD with a valid card.
Is the Bahia Palace ticket still 70 MAD?
No. The Ministry of Culture raised the foreign adult price from 70 MAD to 100 MAD in June 2024. Older articles that say 70 MAD are out of date.
What are the Bahia Palace opening hours?
Daily from about 9:00 to 17:00. During Ramadan hours are shorter, so check on the day if you are visiting in that month.
Can I buy Bahia Palace tickets online?
Yes, through tour platforms, usually for 120 to 150 MAD with an audio guide. The cheapest option is to buy at the gate for 100 MAD.
How long do you need at the Bahia Palace?
Most visitors spend 1 to 1.5 hours. Allow a little longer if you are taking photos or using an audio guide.
Is the Bahia Palace worth visiting?
Yes for the ceilings and courtyards, if you arrive at opening. At peak hours it is crowded, and El Badi Palace is a quieter alternative.
Is there a combined ticket for the Bahia Palace, El Badi and the Saadian Tombs?
No combined ticket is listed. Each site sells its own ticket, so the adult total for all three is 300 MAD at the gate.
