The Yves Saint Laurent Museum in Marrakech opened in October 2017, in a brick building a short walk from the Majorelle Garden. It holds sketches, garments and accessories from the designer's career, and it explains why Marrakech shaped his work after he first came to the city in 1966.

It is run by the same foundation as the garden and the Berber Museum, which is why the combined ticket exists. The museum has its own entrance, and you will need a separate timed ticket if you do not buy the combined version.

The museum sits in a modern brick building with a courtyard. Inside, the permanent exhibition is arranged by theme, and a temporary exhibition changes through the year.

Expect sketches, garments and photographs rather than a crowd of famous dresses. The museum is calmer than the garden, and many visitors come here to escape the garden queue.

Most people spend 45 minutes to an hour. The cafe, Le Studio, is a short stop if you want to sit down.
